SAPNA evolved from our nascent steps at the Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS. Our engagement, limited initially to addressing the needs of a few patients, turned our attention to the destitution and despair of multitudes of the poor and vulnerable faced with exorbitant medical and other expenses far beyond their means. Sayodhya Home offers services that include 24-hour availability of emergency shelter; counseling and support for GBV survivors. Once the victim reaches Sayodhya home, our efforts are focused in providing an environment that will help her recover from the traumatic effects of victimization and develop an understanding of herself and awareness of the dynamics of domestic violence, relationships, financial and workplace requirements through rehabilitation skill trainings and counseling. Every client has to undergo a counseling session and our multi-disciplinary team helps the women to decide her future course of action.
