Healing Environments: Here’s 5 reasons to change it to heal
Abusive households and relationships aren’t good for anyone. Those who experience it often hold onto them for what they believe is providing comfort but in reality is keeping them trapped. This only avoids the questions that need to be asked and prevents the necessary action to be taken. True healing is removing yourself from these environments, taking responsibility for your choices, and embracing the journey ahead. Here are 5 reasons to change your environment.
Safety
Your safety is important no matter the circumstances. If you are currently experiencing this abuse, you are not safe nor have control over the situation. Staying in this relationship and or environment opens yourself up to continue receiving this pain. The only way to guarantee your safety is removing yourself from your environment entirely.
Full Focus
Healing requires your full attention. It’s hardest to heal when you are still receiving the pain of that abuse. Both forces cancel the other out and you must choose the one that gives you positive changes.
Blank Slate
A new environment means a new beginning. A change of scenery or individuals gives us the confidence to continue implementing more changes into our life. Use this as an opportunity to fully embrace change rather than resisting it. You must make sacrifices to make room for the great things that are coming into your life.
Support
Environments don’t always have to be places but people. Making sure you have trusting and supportive people by your side through this healing process is key.
Physical Space To Heal
Our physical environment greatly effects our mental and emotional states. If you don’t change where you are physically, it’s hard for our brain to see the changes we make within. When we physically make changes in our life, our mental and emotional self are more conscious of these changes as well.
Every home we build is a representation of this change. Providing a safe space to escape the external danger and examine our internal wounds. Allowing you to gain great consciousness, confidence, and love for yourself. By changing our environment, we can change our minds too.
A Healing Home is a home for new beginnings. Imagine the possibilities, and let’s do everything in our power to make it a reality.
